9-Step Fertilization & Weed Control FAQ:
Common asked questions we receive with our 9-Step program: What is the small sign that is put in my lawn after my service? These signs MUST be put out by any weed control company. When dealing with chemicals there are many government-regulated policies that we must comply with and this is one of them. These signs are not used for advertisement purposes. These signs are used to let people in the surrounding areas know that there are chemicals in the lawn. Unlike some other companies, Total Lawn Care ONLY uses chemicals that are kid and pet-friendly, however, there still must be a sign put in place. When will my lawn be treated with this 9-Step Program? Each service is spaced 4-6 weeks apart for optimal health of the lawn. Will the rain affect the effectiveness of weed control or fertilization? Rain or watering your lawn after service will HELP the treatment. In order for the treatment to be fully effective the chemicals must reach the soil, the rain will help this process. Unless there is a flood, the treatment will be effective. Is it better to mow my lawn before or after the 9-step service? Typically it is better to mow the lawn before treatment, however, it shouldn't make much of a difference. The chemicals being used are most effective during the first hour or two after being applied. Meaning, that if you mow the lawn the day after or even a few hours after service it shouldn't affect the service. If you don't want to deal with conflicting schedules, we have professionals who can take care of mowing the lawn for you. We have many customers that have us take care of their weeds and lawn mowing. They find this easier than working with two separate companies. When can I let my pets or kids on the lawn after service? All the chemicals we use here at Total Lawn Care are kid and pet-friendly. The chemicals will not affect your pets or children in any harmful way. However, we do ask that you keep them off the yard for the first hour or two so that the chemicals will be evenly distributed while it is the most active, especially during a spot spray treatment. When do I pay for the 9-Step Program? This program is paid monthly. This program is not a contract by any means, however, we do ask for a 30-day notice of your cancellation. Even though this program is not a contract, it is important to note that weeds are not a one-time service job. Weeds need to be maintained and will need continuous treatment.

What Is Fungus And Why Is It An Issue For My Lawn?
Fungus is a common issue many people can have with their lawns. With an unhealthy lawn and unfavorable weather conditions, fungus can easily inhabit a lawn. The appearance of fungus can differ, however, in most cases, the grass will appear discolored and thin. Many times people will mistake fungus as an area of the lawn that's been scalped while mowing or dying from a chemical burn, etc. By misidentifying this issue, many people do not treat the grass correctly which can even worsen the issue.
Poor drainage and warm/ wet weather are the main causes of fungus growth. The best way to prevent fungus from inhabiting the lawn is by maintaining a healthy lawn. However, if you are currently experiencing fungus growth in your lawn, the best way for a sure and fast recovery is by having the fungus treated for. By having the fungus treated professionally, you are ensuring the fungus is taken care of and can recover much faster.

What Are Grub And Why Are They An Issue?
Grubs are a form of larvae that come out of hibernation in the spring and eat at the root system of your grass. Rodents LOVE eating grub and may dig throughout the lawn to reach them. This is typically when people begin to notice this issue. Getting rid of grub is a little more tricky to treat than other common insects. When a large number of grubs are not treated they will transform into beetles in early summer. At this point, they will begin to come out from underground and increase the damage to your lawn at a faster rate than before. The damage from grub and beetles typically looks like a fungus or dying grass. A grub or beetle infestation should be taken care of as soon as possible to allow the grass to begin to recover and eliminate the risk of a larger infestation later on.
If you think you may be dealing with grub, don't wait! Call us today and get a professional to rid of the issue.
